Biography
Eric Wang is a technical advisor who has worked in several areas of intellectual property. With over thirty years of experience in the field, he has a firm understanding of the patent application process as well as the business aspect of developing a new product.
Mr. Wang’s most recent experience includes working as a patent examiner for the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office. He was responsible for reviewing applications to ensure that it complies entirely with all necessary requirements and procedures. Furthermore, Mr. Wang has worked as a patent examiner for Office Actions in which he gave detailed analysis regarding the patentability of an invention and granted or rejected patent applications based on his findings. He has experience regarding all aspects of the patent process, making him the perfect choice when looking for an intellectual property advisor.
Prior to his time at the UPSTO, Mr. Wang worked as a senior product engineer and product manager at Cisco-Linksys. At Cisco-Linksys he developed a new wireless router with hotspot capabilities. He also participated in the business aspect of product development by managing the product engineering activities and helping redesign a new user interface for all Linksys products. In addition to his time as a product engineer at Cisco-Linksys, Mr. Wang also spent much of his career as a senior software engineer at Hughes Network Systems. During his time there, Mr. Wang lead a team by designing and implementing interface systems through unit designing, coding, and integration testing.
Mr. Wang earned his Bachelor of Science (B.S.) in Computer Science from University of Maryland. He later obtained his Master of Science (M.S.) in Computer Science at the prestigious John Hopkins University.
With his extensive background in technology, Mr. Wang has assisted Wang IP Law Group P.C. clients in a diverse array of intellectual property and business matters. He is also able to guide clients through the entire patent application process and provide meaningful insight based on his first-hand experience at the USPTO.
